You Can’t Tell By Looking

You hadn't laughed so hard in years.

She was the life of the party last night.

A mutual friend calls.

You smile as you answer until you hear her tears.

“She's gone” she cries.

What?

“She's gone! After the party she went home and . . .

”At the funeral all you heard was: "How could this have happened? We didn't see it coming"
