For Parents and Communities: Practical Strategies for Children and Families

Lynn McLaughlin brings her experience as an educator, author and speaker to conversations that help families better understand and support children's literacy, learning and well-being.

Her presentations offer practical, proactive strategies that parents and caregivers can use in everyday situations — helping children build confidence, self-awareness, problem-solving skills and positive ways to respond to challenges.

Topics Can Include

Literacy: Reading must be explicitly taught and how we teach it matters.

Well-being: Children need to be taught the skills to understand themselves, build confidence and self-awareness, regulate their emotions, make positive choices, and develop problem-solving skills.

“It is with great pleasure that I write this review for Lynn. 14 years ago Lynn planted a leadership seed in me as a brand new teacher. She was patient, caring and a leader with heart. The same leadership skills she used in education, she uses to drive her business. Her motivation and passion for helping others became clear when life threw her lemons. Not only did she make lemonade, but she also took the lemonade and supported her community knowing that her story will save lives. As a new business owner, her book became my resource guide. It encouraged me to keep going and always have a positive mindset! Thank you, Lynn!”

“Lynn is an extraordinarily gifted writer and as such an incredible storyteller. Her courageous and warrior like spirit to divulge the truth about her own struggles is empowering and inspirational ... Because she has dealt with her own feelings fighting her own battles she is able to be a champion for anyone who is facing adversity in his/her life. She knows how to engage a reader or listener and captivate them until the very end.”
