KAREN METCALFE: THE POWER OF MEDICAL RESEARCH AND A LIFE'S COMMITMENT TO ADVOCACY
Karen Metcalfe is the Assistant Director of WE-Spark Health Institute, "designed to take health care to the next level through research" where four key organizations have come together in partnership. She shares some of the work currently being done by the Institute specific to Covid-19 and the power of collaboration that this organization brings to the community and beyond.
Karen shares her personal experience as a mother whose child was diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. This was the catalyst that lead her to become passionate about the importance of research and the advocate she is today, not only with WE-Spark Health Institute, but in her role as a leader and vocal volunteer with the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada.
