PAT BUTLER | UNPACKING THE GRIEF OF DIVORCE … THANKS FOR LEAVING ME!

"There are many, many wonderful things left in life. And so that's why I wrote, Thanks For Leaving Me."

Pat Butler had a blissful life with a wonderful husband and children, and a successful career as a physics, math teacher and training consultant, holding a master's in education. But her world was rocked when her husband suddenly ended the marriage after only two months with another woman.

After 41 years together, Pat was left to grieve her loss and learn to live alone. With the help of a therapist and an understanding of the three stages of transition, Pat found the strength to move forward, eventually remarrying in 2014. She used her experiences to write two books, sharing her journey of resilience and recovery to inspire others in similar situations.

In this episode, key points of our discussion are:

💥  How Pat Butler's life changed drastically when her husband left after 40 years of marriage and how she survived the upheaval.

💥  Pat's new book, a "Divorce Journal: A Guided Path to Moving Forward," which she wrote with co-author David Frenkel (a divorce lawyer) and how it helps divorced people move forward.

💥  The importance of the neutral zone in life transitions and how it can help people find self-renewal.

💥  How we support our children when their worlds are being turned upside down through divorce.
